Floe is for Mac users who work with several app windows at once: notes beside a browser, Finder beside a document, or a custom layout across a larger display. Snap windows into a layout, resize neighbors together, and use your own keyboard shortcuts. Display-specific preferences let you keep different setups for a laptop, ultrawide, or portrait monitor.
Floe is a native macOS window manager for snapping and tiling app windows into layouts. Use Snap Bar to place a window, Snap Assist to fill the remaining spaces, and shared dividers to resize neighboring windows together. It also supports custom layouts, keyboard shortcuts, and different setups for each display.
Install Floe and grant Accessibility permission, then drag an app window to the top of your screen. Choose a space in Snap Bar and release the window to snap it into place. Snap Assist lets you select other open windows to fill the remaining spaces. See the Floe installation guide for setup instructions.
Floe requires macOS 15 or later and works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Some apps limit how their windows can be resized. Full-screen windows and windows in other Spaces have additional macOS limitations.
macOS requires your permission before Floe can move and resize other apps’ windows. Floe observes window and mouse activity for window management; it does not record the text you type.
It’s only used for optional window thumbnails in Snap Assist. Floe captures still previews, not a continuous recording. You can turn thumbnails off and keep arranging windows.
The 7-day trial starts when you first launch Floe. No payment is required. When the trial ends, window management pauses until you activate a license; Settings remains accessible. Reinstalling doesn’t reset the trial. A $9.99 USD one-time perpetual license covers two active Macs. Update to Floe 1.0.22 or later to activate.
Floe is a direct download, signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Open the DMG and drag Floe into Applications. It isn’t distributed through the Mac App Store.
Yes. Window content, previews, layouts, and preferences stay on your Mac. Licensing uses Lemon Squeezy, update checks use GitHub, and automatic crash and hang diagnostics go through Sentry. The privacy policy explains the details.
